Heat and mass transfer in the oscillatory hydromagnetic free convective flow of a visco-elastic fluid past an infinite vertical porous plate with constant suction and heat dissipation has been studied. Constitutive equations of the problem have been developed and solutions are arrived at following small parameter perturbation technique. The effects of various fluid parameters like non-Newtonian parameter Rc, Grashof number G, modified Grashof number Gc, Eckert number E and magnetic parameter M on the mean and transient velocity field have been studied with the help of graphs. Similarly, the effects of Prandtl number P alongwith the other parameters have been exhibited through graphs. The effect of Schmidt number Sc on the mean concentration has been shown by the graph. The values of skin-frictions, rates of heat transfer and concentration gradient have been entered in the tables with the variations of the fluid parameters. It is observed that the magnetic field decelerates the flow of the visco-elastic fluid under consideration.
