The mechanism of dipolar interaction involving the nuclear extractant TBP with five long-chain primary alcohols namely 1-butanol, 1-pentanol,1-hexanol,1-heptanol and 1-octanol was investigated using measured value of the relative permittivity at 455kHz , refractive index at sodium D-line and density at temperature 303.16K. The dielectric parameters such as excess mutual correlation factor and excess free energy of mixing were evaluated for entire range of concentration of TBP in these systems using Winkelmann-Quitzsch equation and Davis-Douheret equation. Striking similarities in the trend of variation of Dg and gab-1, DFWQ and DFDD were observed in 1-hexanol, 1-heptanol,1-octanol systems whereas it was opposite in others may be due to the limitations of W-Q and D-D equations.
